The African American Women in Cinema Film Festival (AAWICFF) is one of the most celebrated female film events in the country. Every year, the AAWICFF shines its luminous spotlight onto ambitious women filmmakers from all over the world. Since 1998, the AAWICFF has premiered a number of distinctive films that featured workshops and keynote panels hosted by industry professionals.
Khalilah Angela Webster is a dynamic media practitioner holding expertise in the areas of Television & Film Production, Screenwriting, Acting, and Modeling. She is also an accomplished entrepreneur owning (2) education consulting firms and is co-founder/board member for (2) emerging not-for-profit organizations.
Dr. Cynthia Oriyomi Ashley is the Chair of Restoring Our Community Media & Arts Network Foundation and the Founder and CEO/President of Total Faith Network Television (TFNTV) Media Enterprises, Inc. An independent broadcast, cablecast & webcast television network and strategic media marketing corporation that uses mass communications, social media and digital technology. TFNTV produces content (programming) that inspires, educates, challenges, heals and empowers viewers to win. TFNTV promotes individuals, communities, cultures, and societies-at-large positively Dr. Cyndi states, "I believe in the power of the personal story. I know each person is uniquely created in the Imago Dei (image of God).
Vivian Scott Chew is undeniably a pioneering risk taker in every sense of the word. As Founder and Principal of TimeZone International, she stands as an innovative figure in the global music and entertainment industry.
One of Chew’s foundational steps was at ASCAP (American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers), where she was the first African-American female membership representative. She then founded the “ASCAP Rhythm and Soul Awards,” which became an instant success and has grown to become an ASCAP staple event celebrating its 33rd year.
She is also the Producer of the feature film documentary, Two Beats One Soul.
Tina Fears is a Los Angeles, California native who is proud to call Atlanta home. Her work as an actor, singer, and dancer includes regional productions of Simply Simone, Dreamgirls, In The Heights and Memphis the Musical as well as national commercials for Walmart, Ford, Coca Cola, and Shoe Carnival to name a few. Tina has provided voiceovers for NCAA tournament awards events and the anninated series Global Problem Solvers. Her role as Clara Ward in the Emmy Nominated National Geographic anthology series Genius: Aretha premiered in March 2021 and is now streming on HULU. Tina takes pride in being both the show and the business. She is the founder of Stage Ready a full-service production company.
Nicole London is the Grammy-nominated producer - credits include Sammy Davis Jr.: I’ve Gotta Be Me, The Talk: Race in America and 16 shorts showing in the Smithsonian’s National Museum of African American History & Culture. Her films were nominated for NAACP Image Awards: Miles Davis: Birth of the Cool, August Wilson: The Ground On Which I Stand and The Black Panthers: Vanguard of the Revolution.
Anita Sayago, owner and co-founder of EDANA Entertainment (with co-founder Eddie Luisi of Good Morning America in NYC). Ms. Sayago is also a feature film and digital series Producer with Black Ink Pictures and TnG Films under Director, Terence Gordon.
She most recently produced the Feature Documentary “WHAT’S IN A NAME!” A Versace Story and Feature Film “Calm Before,” to name a few.
Jumaane D. Williams is the Public Advocate of the City of New York. Previously, he served on the NYC Council representing the 45th District.
Husband and wife music producers, Ray Chew and Vivian Scott Chew embark on an ambitious two week journey to Cuba to create a collaboration of sounds which originated from Afro-Caribbean roots, that has evolved into what we now consider modern day Salsa music. Nicky Sunshine Is an actress, voice over artist, and stand up comedian. Ms. Sunshine’s self written one woman show “Confessions of a Massage Parlor Madam” has raised awareness about sex trafficking, sex work, and sexual assault. She is a Financial Administrator and Board member of WOW Cafe Theater on the Lower East Side and Treasurer of "Voice Actors of NYC" Ms. Sunshine is a radio personality on 108soul.com and co-owner of the new venue “Comedy in Harlem”.
