AAWIC is very pleased to announce the launching of our Atlanta Georgia Chapter, headed by Director Lashell Lakes. This chapter has been designed to assist with the ongoing growth and development of burgeoning women filmmakers, writers, producers, and directors nationwide.
The AAWIC Atlanta Chapter will host a variety of programming which will include film screenings, workshops, forums, and special events! Ms. Lashell Lakes, a prominent industry professional whose background includes more than 10 years of organizational management in entertainment and founded the Red Carpet Society Media Group and has amassed a diverse network of actors, producers, directors, and screenwriters that work collectively.
Phoenyx Wallace is the Director of the AAWIC Atlanta Chapter.
As Director of the African American Women in Cinema Atlanta Chapter, Phoenyx hopes to empower women in film with the resources they need to bring their vision to fruition.
Phoenyx is also a screenwriter, producer, and consultant for other filmmakers. Within one year, she amassed a diverse network of actors, producers, directors and screenwriters that work collectively on film projects. She has a passion for writing horror, sci-fi and urban drama.
Phoenyx is the CEO of Red Carpet Society Media Group, LLC, a film production company based in Atlanta, Georgia. The mission of Red Carpet Society is to enhance the quality of film and television with unique and innovative perspectives that have an international appeal within all genres.

Lisa Allen is the Director of the AAWIC Florida Chapter.
Lisa Allen Founded Lacey Lace Entertainment/Production company that developed artist, create music videos and book talent amongst many other things. She has also Directed and Produced several TV Shows as well as musical showcases. Ms. Allen has worked with xtreme 104.9 fm and ellipse group records.
The AAWIC Florida Chapter will host a variety of programming which will include film screenings, workshops, forums, and special events!
The Pouponniere Orphanage in L’Emmanuel, Senegal is for newborns and toddlers. AAWIC plans to support this organization along with film screenings and educational programs for the community in Senegal, Africa. This effort is supported in part by Remix.
