African American Women In Cinema (AAWIC) is a 501 c3 non-profit organization who serves as a continuous support for the vibrant work of women filmmakers for the past twenty-five years. AAWIC provides a platform to showcase aligning experienced and novice filmmakers, directors, producers, screenwriters and actors. Our mission is to expand, explore and create business opportunities for minority women filmmakers throughout the entertainment industry. It is the goal of AAWIC to give artistic women a path to fulfilling their dreams through showcasing their talents, exposure to peers’ interaction, and mentoring by established professionals.

Get ready for three days of cinematic excellence at the 24th Annual AAWIC Film Festival! Hosted by African American Women In Cinema (AAWIC), a renowned non-profit organization based in New York, this year's festival will be held from March 21-23, 2024, at LaGuardia Community College. As one of the most celebrated female film events in the nation, AAWICFF continues its legacy of showcasing the visionary works of ambitious women filmmakers from across the country. Since its inception in 1998, the festival has premiered an impressive array of distinctive films and educational segments on industry related topics featuring prominent industry prominent professionals. Join us as we celebrate creativity, diversity, and the power of storytelling at the 24th AAWIC FF, where cinematic brilliance takes center stage.
